Who we are
MIY Outdoor Pty Ltd (ABN [to confirm]) makes and installs outdoor blinds, awnings and roof systems in Western Australia. In this policy, “we” means MIY Outdoor.
This policy covers our website, miyoutdoor.com.au, and our online hub, hub.miyoutdoor.com.au. The hub is where you design, view and accept quotes, order DIY kits, and where our resellers work. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988.

What we collect
We only collect what you give us, plus some technical details from your browser. What we collect depends on what you use.

If you buy through one of our resellers, the reseller collects your details and enters them in our hub to quote and order your job.
Why we use it
We use your information to do what you asked us to do, and to run our business.
- Show you a price, prepare your quote, and contact you about it.
- Book a measure, make and install your job, or send your DIY order.
- Take payment and keep our accounts.
- Send you emails about your quote, order and payments. We can see whether these emails were opened.
- Pass your enquiry to the reseller who will look after you.
- Find out which of our ads bring us customers, so we spend less on the ones that do not.
- Keep the website and hub working and secure.
We do not sell your information. We do not send you marketing newsletters unless you ask for them.
Who we share it with
We share your information only with the businesses that help us do the job, and only what they need.

Some of these companies may store information outside Australia, including in the United States. We may also share information when the law requires it.
Cookies and advertising
Our website and hub use cookies from Google Analytics and Meta. They tell us how people find and use the site, and which ads work. Your DIY cart is saved in your own browser.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the site still works. You can also opt out of Google Analytics at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, and change your ad settings in your Google and Facebook accounts.
Where it is kept and for how long
Our hub and its database are hosted in Sydney. Your contact details are behind a sign-in that only our staff, and the reseller handling your job, can use. Photos and design pictures are stored at private web links that are not listed anywhere.
We keep quotes, orders and invoices for at least 7 years, because tax law requires it, and to honour warranties. We keep enquiries that did not go ahead so we can help if you come back. Ask us and we will remove the details we do not need to keep.
If we ever have a data breach that could seriously harm you, we will tell you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Your choices
- See or correct your details. Email [email protected]. We reply within 30 days. There is no charge.
- Stop our emails. Reply to any email from us, or email [email protected], and we will stop anything that is not about a job you have with us.
- Stay anonymous. You can browse and use the 3D designer without giving your details. We need them to give you a price or a quote.
- Make a complaint. Email [email protected] first, and we will reply within 30 days. If you are not happy with our answer, contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or 1300 363 992.
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
